Discover and catalog agents in Exchange
Prerequisites: apis-as-ai-control-plane
You cannot govern or reuse what you cannot find. Discover - the first MAF capability made concrete - turns a sprawl of agents and tools into a searchable catalog so teams reuse rather than rebuild.
What you will learn
- How Anypoint Exchange serves as the registry for the agent fabric.
- Which asset types the catalog tracks.
- How Scanners automatically catalog external agents.
Anypoint Exchange as the registry
Anypoint Exchange is the central catalog where the fabric’s building blocks are published and discovered (Anypoint Exchange). Cataloged asset types include:
- Agents - autonomous participants in the network.
- MCP servers - tool/data providers (see Track 1’s MCP lesson).
- Brokers - routing agents (auto-tagged).
- LLMs - the models available to agents.
These build on the standard Exchange asset model (Asset Types).
Discover enables Govern
Automatic discovery with Scanners
Beyond what your teams publish, Scanners automatically catalog external agents so the registry reflects reality rather than only what was manually registered. This keeps the fabric’s inventory current as agents proliferate. (Forward-looking: confirm Scanner configuration details against current official Agent Fabric documentation.)
Next steps
Continue to Govern with Omni Gateway policies to attach security and compliance controls to the agents and tools you just cataloged.
